Hello everyone, welcome to my One world one heart Giveaway, it's time to sit and drink coffee together and become good friends :o)

For those that haven't been to my blog before i'll just tell you a little bit about me:

My Name is Micki Wilde, otherwise known as 'The Secret Hermit' I am a full time whimsical artist from Leicestershire UK and I am so glad you stopped by ;o)

I am married with 2 gorgeous children and have been painting now for just over 3 years, before that I used to make jewellery and before that I made handcrafted cards, I guess I have tried a bit of everything :o)

I am mainly self taught with the exception of a few online classes and I am a huge lover of texture, some of my all time favourite textures to use are:

Fiber paste, crackle paint, vintage book pages and ledger papers, fresco flakes and glass bead gel.

My inspirations for my art come from a variety of different sources but I find that more often than not they come from everyday life, having a 7 year old daughter and a 12 year old son gives me a whole heap of inspiration on a regular basis :o)

The theme of my giveaway today is 'Spring' we had a tiny bit of sun here in the UK the other day and it got me in the mood for all things pretty and spring like.

I am offering up one prize to the lucky winner with 3 items in it:

A 15x15cm canvas board painting titled - Fresh as a daisy

A 2 1/2 by 3 1/2 inch ATC (artist trading card) titled - Joy

and a pretty lampwork glass and silver bracelet to fit a 6 1/2 inch wrist

Hi guys, just a fly by visit today, i've got 2 rather snotty kids at home with me today, 2 boxes of tissues already used up....Yuck!!

Thank you for all your well wishes in the last post :o)

I have been back to work again yesterday and today, my shoulder is still sore but nothing a few ibuprofen won't fix ;o)

I had lots of thinking time whilst I was forced to rest (dangerous stuff that thinking business) and I have a heap of new ideas and rough sketches ready to pop on to canvas.

Here are my first 3 which are now in my Etsy shop, I do hope you like them :o)

Time out

Ouch!! is all I can say right now.

I have managed to pull a muscle in my left shoulder and the pain is shooting into my neck and spine. It is partly because I painted for too many hours the other day, partly because I started exercising again (after a long time of giving up) and partly because my silly mutt chased a kitty and wrenched my arm the other day whilst walking down an icy hill!! *sigh*

I'm taking a couple of days off to heal.

Even typing is hurting right now.

I'll hopefully be back to normal after the weekend.

Country girls do it outdoors

So obviously when I say "country girls do it outdoors" I am meaning play the guitar and not anything rude, so wash your dirty minds out those of you that thought otherwise ;o)

I am being kept very happily busy at the moment I have just started painting a 22 x22 inch abstract for my daughters bedroom that she wants doing for her birthday next month plus another small painting to go in a frame also for her room, she is having her room re vamped for her birthday and knows exactly what she wants....she is going to be 7 next month lol...she sure takes after her mum ;o)

I also have 3 more custom paintings to do and I have just finished 2 ATC's for a swap I am in too, so I am working on my etsy shop a tad slower than usual for now i'm afraid.

I did manage to get this 8x10 inch canvasboard painted up though and it is now available in my etsy shop :)

Some pets are easier than others

I am so glad I finally got this painting done :o)

It was drawn up at the same time as the other 2 goldfish paintings I did the other week, but I somehow managed to 'forget' that I had drawn it onto canvas board and it was put under a pile of junk and forgotten about until yesterday when I had a bit of a (much needed) clearout.

So after tidying up my art room I got straight to work on this girl and her fish.

She is currently in my Etsy shop waiting for a new home ;o)

I Love Feeding Ducks

It's true, I do love feeding ducks and that is exactly what me, the hubby and the kids have been doing for the past few weekends.

On Sundays it is our 'Family day' where we get to go out some where together, just the 4 of us (and the doggy too if it's outside) well we have had lots of fun taking our left over bread to give to the ducks and last weekend was the best one yet.

We met a duck who we lovingly called 'sqeaky' and everytime we gave it some bread it made a sqeaky sound like a 'thank you', you can only imagine how my 7 year old daughter reacted to this, she instantly wanted to bundle it up and take it home to keep for ever and ever and ever......you get the picture ;o)

Well we couldn't take the ducky home with us but I did do 2 paintings with ducks in as a reminder of our fun.

Well it's been busy busy around here again, i've had quite a few custom paintings to do and the orders are still rolling in, which is super nice and I am loving it ;o)

I did manage to squeeze in some time to make 3 pieces af art, one on A5 canvasboard and 2 little aceo's which are all in my Etsy shop now :o)

Hi Guys!!

I made a few changes to my blog yesterday and today, I just had to get rid of the wintry feel I had going on before ;0)

Obviously I am in the mood for some green back in my life instead of all this dreary grey we've got going on in the UK right now, my blog background has turned green and my latest painting too ;o)
